For the one who has EVERYTHING...

Ok- so there is someone on your list who you are still not done shopping for. Your spouse. Grandparents. Sister or brother. You want to do something special, but you can't think of anything different. How about the gift of custom photography? If there is one thing I have learned over the years- people treasure their family photographs...and often don't make time to schedule family sessions each year. Kids grow so fast and change so much each year. It's important to capture each stage of their lives. A gift certificate is the perfect gift for anyone- moms & dads, parents-to-be, aunts & uncles, grandparents- even your boss!

Gift Certificates for Wendie DeLano Photography are available in any denomination, so you could choose a small amount to pay for a print order, or a larger amount to cover the cost of a session. They can be shipped in time for Christmas. Boxes and gift wrapping are available upon request.

Twinkies

When my twin sister and I were little our parents called us their "Twinkies". It makes me smile to look at these pictures and imagine my sister and I snuggled up the same way. I loved working with these precious little girls- I had never photographed two newborns at once before! It was interesting to study their little faces and see that one resembles dad more and one resembles mom more...just like my sister and me.

Boys will be Boys

First let me say Happy Thanksgiving to you all! One of the things I am grateful for today is having such great clients who have helped me grow my business so much this year. I could not have done it without you!

I wanted to share some recent pictures of a very handsome family I had the pleasure to work with. You know for some reason I seem to work with a lot of little girls. It was fun to switch gears and work with boys! It really helped me to get creative and do some more masculine posing. We were able to do some traditional portraits and then they changed into their camo and we got vintage. Those shots really worked beautifully in black & white. Hope you enjoy looking at them!

Tara & Ryan- Engagement Session

Ok, so I am a little behind with this post... My sister-in-law, Tara, married her longtime love, Ryan, November 1st in Delray Beach, Fl. As a wedding gift I did an engagement photo session for them during a visit home to Michigan this summer. We had a blast driving around to some of their favorite local spots in Detroit and Birmingham. I created a guest sign in book for their wedding with the pictures- here are some of my favorites.

Tara & Ryan had the most amazing photographers shoot their wedding (husband and wife team Kara & Jeremy Pennington from Kara Pennington Photography). If you get a chance- check out Kara's blog to view some pictures from the wedding. Just scroll to the second page of the blog to find them. In addition to the gorgeous pictures of the bride and groom, you will find a picture of me (the pregnant bridesmaid) and a couple of my sweet Lilly (the flower girl).

Congratulations Tara & Ryan- Love you both!

"The Family Photographer"

I really look forward to hearing from this family every year as we schedule their annual session. It's been fun watching them grow over the past four years- and this year they added a new baby girl! I have come to feel like the "official family photographer" as I've seen them through all these changes. They are planning a big move soon, but hopefully they will work me in when they come back to visit family in the Detroit area. I wish them the best of luck in their new city!

The Most "Pinchable" Cheeks

What a beautiful day we had for this session- the last in Ashley's first year series. She has graced this blog before- remember the sweet girl in the purple tutu? She changed so much in just a few months. I couldn't resist a couple ultra close-up's of her darling face- she has the most pinchable cheeks ever! I have really enjoyed spending time with her and getting to witness all the big milestones in her first year of life. What a gift!

Happy Birthday My Sweet Lilly!

Today is my daughter's 3rd birthday- I can hardly believe how big she is getting! We had such a fun day hanging out together and playing with all the new toys she got at her birthday party yesterday. I even spent some time telling her about the day she was born- what we were doing, who was there, etc. She was so fascinated to listen to all of this. I love that I can tell her things now that she is understanding and remembering in such detail. I am so lucky to be able to spend every day with my dear child, watching her learn and grow. I wouldn't change a second of it.

I Love You Lilly!

Here are a couple of favorites I took of her last week:

Andy & Emily got married!

You may recall seeing pictures from Andy & Emily's engagement session a while back. Recently I had the privilege of shooting their wedding in Sandusky, Ohio. I had an absolute blast spending the day with them and their friends. I have known Andy since high school and when I heard he was dating someone seriously I was thrilled. Emily is the perfect match for him. Her outgoing personality totally compliments his quiet demeanor. They also make each other laugh- which I think is the key to it all!

Best of luck to you both, I wish you many years of joy together!

I love when I get to ride on the party bus with the wedding party- so much fun! If you think someone looks familiar in the front row- that is my twin sister Beckie at the bottom right of the photo! My brother-in-law is standing by the window right behind her.

Beth & Kevin's Wedding

Is is so special to me when I have the honor of shooting a friend's wedding. I met Beth more than five years ago when I began dating my husband. She made me feel like part of the gang right away and for that I am forever grateful. I was thrilled when she came back from a friends wedding and talked about a great guy she had met there. It was clear immediately that Kevin was someone special.

The wedding was held at St. Mary's College in South Bend, IN... the place they had connected just a few years before. It was a beautiful wedding, for a beautiful couple.

Congratulations Beth & Kevin!
